ABOUT THE ARTIST
I began photography in 2001 as a way to slow down and enjoy the details that surround us, but that we seldom notice. Since then, I have learned that life is not just about getting to a series of destinations; but, it is also about the journey. Additionally, it is my belief that we are not just passive observers in our universe. We create our own reality solely by the act of observing & interacting with our surroundings.
I have held or hold memberships in NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals), NANPA (North American Nature Photographers Association), NCFPC (North Central Florida Photography Club), and I am an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop.
Since 2008, I have participated in photography contests and won numerous awards, including 5 1st place ribbons. Having my work judged against others' has been educational and fun. However, my primary reason for photographing remains to satisfy an inner need for understanding of the universe through observation of & interaction with my surroundings.
